Chip & Crack Repair — what we can and can’t repair

Cracked windshield close-up

Caught early, a chip or crack can often be repaired instead of replaced — faster, less expensive, and sometimes covered by insurance at no cost to you. But a safe repair has limits, and we won’t cut corners on your safety.

For a repair to be safe and to hold, the damage has to be:

These aren’t upsells — they’re safety and liability limits. Your windshield is a structural part of your vehicle, and we’d rather do the job that actually keeps you safe than a quick fix that fails.

Why a reputable, insured glass company matters

Auto glass work is about more than dropping in a piece of glass. Done carelessly, it can leave your vehicle with problems that show up months later — and if the company that did it isn’t properly licensed and insured, fixing those problems can fall on you.

Chasing the cheapest price can cost you far more. An inexperienced or improperly insured installer can leave you with:

Here’s the part people don’t think about: if a company that isn’t properly licensed and insured damages your vehicle, that damage often isn’t covered — not by them, and not by your own insurance — because you hired someone who wasn’t a legitimate, insured business. You can be left paying to fix it yourself. JT Auto Glass is a licensed, insured, established shop that uses quality glass and manufacturer-recommended adhesives, and we stand behind our workmanship. That’s the difference.

Our workmanship warranty

We back our workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle. Every job comes with a written warranty.

If a problem ever comes from how we installed your glass — a leak, a wind noise, or a seal that lets go — we make it right for as long as you, the original purchaser, own the vehicle. We also pass through the glass manufacturer’s product warranty on the glass itself. You’ll receive the full written warranty with your invoice.

What the warranty does not cover:

The warranty is non-transferable and applies to the original purchaser. Your written warranty on the invoice sets out the complete terms.

Insurance coverage and any out-of-pocket cost are determined by your insurance company and your policy, not by JT Auto Glass. Chip and crack repairs are limited by size, location, and depth; some damage can only be corrected by replacement. We follow manufacturer procedures for installation and ADAS recalibration; the written warranty provided with your invoice governs all work.
